GEOMETRY OF MODEL SWITCHES (HO)

The straight section of a normal switch (6070/71/72/73) is 165 mm long (= rail 6005). The straight section of a high-speed switch (6078/79//0/81) and a triple switch (6057/58) is 204 mm long (= rail 6001). The reverse curves 6032 for normal switches, 6036 for high-speed switches, 6032 and 6036 for triple switches, 6032 for double crossover-junction. The rails of the double crossover-junction are 219.5 mm long (6005+6003). Track spacing: 63.5 mm.

PROFI SWITCH GEOMETRY (HO)

The straight section of a single switch (6078/79/80/81), a triple switch (6157/58) and a double through-junction (6164/65/66/67) is 200 mm long (= rail 6101). The curved section of these switches corresponds to rail 6138, which also acts as a counter-curve. The diagonal rail of the double junction crossing is 210 mm long, which corresponds to two 6102 rails. Track spacing: 63.5 mm.

GEOMETRY OF N-PICCOLO TURNOUTS

The straight section of a single switch (9170/71/72/73), a triple switch (9157/58) and a double through-junction (9184/85/86/87) is 111 mm long (= rail 9101). The curved section of these switches corresponds to rail 9136, which also acts as a counter-curve. The diagonal rail of the double junction crossing is 115 mm long, which corresponds to two 9102 rails. Track spacing: 33.6 mm.

PROGRAMMABLE SWITCHES

On delivery, all the switches are conductive, in other words all the rails conduct current.
Simply removing the metal bridges turns the switches into "programmable" switches. Remove the metal bridges using tweezers. The current will then only flow in the direction in which the switch is pointing. Warning: High-speed switches cannot be crossed in the wrong direction.
